Thousands of Norwegians use their mobile doctor’s appointment during the autumn holiday. Because what do you do when you get conjunctivitis in the South, a skin rash in the mountains, or your child gets impetigo in the big city? Here you get the doctor’s best advice.

Autumn holiday means freedom, mountain trips, city breaks, or sun in the South. But even on holiday, small and large health problems can arise. What do you do if your child gets impetigo, you get an eye infection – or a rash suddenly appears?

With Eyr, you have the doctor in your pocket, ready to help wherever you are.

When the body says stop on holiday

β€œMany people get musculoskeletal problems on holiday, either on mountain trips or during sports activities. It is one of the most common reasons why people contact usβ€œ, says Halima Chaudary, specialist in general medicine at Eyr.

Other common ailments are insect bites, stomach problems, or skin infections – conditions that often require a prescription or treatment. Perhaps you need an ointment for a rash, allergy medicine you forgot at home, or eye drops for an irritating infection.

Rashes are a common occurrence Rashes are very common and can have many different causes. Symptoms can vary from itchy, dry skin with redness and swelling to small or large blisters. Rashes can be caused by everything from local allergic reactions to chronic skin diseases.

β€œThe common thing for most skin ailments is that there are good treatment options. Through video consultation, we can quickly assess the condition and advise on the correct treatmentβ€œ, says Chaudhary.

Colds and viruses

For many, the autumn holiday is a time for relaxation, either in the mountains or by the sea. At the same time, it is also high season for colds, stomach flu, sore throats and influenza.

β€œWhen the air gets colder, we spend more time indoors and closer to each other. Then the infection spreads fasterβ€œ, explains Chaudhary.

If you get sick at the cabin, it may be appropriate to avoid putting a strain on the local medical centers. They should primarily take care of their own residents and acute injuries.
